In a world filled with bad news, tragedy, and unkindness, we want to promote the GOOD AND KIND things people do for others.

WET PANTS

WET
PANTS

Come with me
to a third grade classroom..... There is a
nine-year-old kid sitting at his desk and all of
a sudden, there is a puddle between his feet and
the front of his pants are wet. He thinks his
heart is going to stop because he cannot
possibly imagine how this has happened. It's
never happened before, and he knows that when
the boys find out he will never hear the end of
it. When the girls find out, they'll never speak
to him again as long as he
lives.

The boy
believes his heart is going to stop; he puts his
head down and prays this prayer, 'Dear God, this
is an emergency! I need help now! Five minutes
from now I'm dead
meat.'

He looks up
from his prayer and here comes the teacher with
a look in her eyes that says he has been
discovered.
As the
teacher is walking toward him, a class mate
named Susie is carrying a goldfish bowl that is
filled with water. Susie trips in front of the
teacher and inexplicably dumps the bowl of water
in the boy's
lap.

The boy
pretends to be angry, but all the while is
saying to himself, 'Thank you, Lord! Thank you,
Lord!'

Now all of a
sudden, instead of being the object of ridicule,
the boy is the object of sympathy. The teacher
rushes him downstairs and gives him gym shorts
to put on while his pants dry out. All the other
children are on their hands and knees cleaning
up around his desk. The sympathy is wonderful.
But as life would have it, the ridicule that
should have been his has been transferred to
someone else -
Susie.
She tries to
help, but they tell her to get out. You've done
enough, you
klutz!'

Finally, at
the end of the day, as they are waiting for the
bus, the boy walks over to Susie and whispers,
'You did that on purpose, didn't you?' Susie
whispers back, 'I wet my pants once
too.'
May God help
us see the opportunities that are always around
us to do
good..

Remember.....Just going to
church doesn't make you a Christian any more
than standing in your garage makes you a
car.
Each and
everyone one of us is going through tough times
right now, but God is getting ready to bless you
in a way that only He can. Keep the
faith.

WEEK 4--Kindness Challenge

Send an email to someone for no other reason than to just say "I'm thinking of you today."

I get a lot of spam email that is really depressing, I love it when I get an email from a friend that just says they care about me.  This is a really simple and often overlooked way to show kindness.  You never know the difference you could make in someone's life with just a simple email "hello" and it doesn't require money or a whole lot of time.

A.R.K.--The Parking Meter

Today while on vacation I was able to do A Random act of Kindness.  When I got back to my vehicle, I noticed that the persons meter who was parked next to me was expired.  I had an extra quarter in my pocket so I popped it into their meter to give them an extra 40 minutes.  I've never done that before and it felt really good knowing I was helping to prevent someone from getting a parking ticket with just my extra quarter!

KINDNESS :)  IT MATTERS--IT BEGINS WITH YOU!

Kindness Challenge #3

Since I still have access to the internet where we are at, I thought I would blog a little reminder of Kindness Challenge #3 to say Thank you to everyone who serves you this week.  You could leave a little note in the mailbox for the mailman, say a sincere thank you to store clerks, etc.

We've had lots of opportunities for this on our vacation because we've got mixed up on map routes and have stopped to get directions.  The people have been very friendly, informative and sympathic as they point us in the right direction.  We still have a ways to go so I'm sure we'll have more opportunities to Thank People for their service and help this week.

I can't begin to describe how much it brightens a clerks day to have someone say "Thank You".  I use to work as a cashier for Hardees.  Some of those days were really long and discouraging.  It was amazing how someones simple "Thank You" to me totally changed my day around.

Remember the magic word THANK YOU this week!  :)

Reflections on Kindness Challenge #2

We have been traveling through the state of Wyoming for the last couple of days and I have been able to enjoy seeing clouds.  In Wyoming the clouds seem to go on and on and never end--it is a pretty amazing sight.  I have seen big puffy "happy" white clouds and big "angry" black clouds that shoot out lightening.

Today we went and saw Devils Tower and we really enjoyed walking around it and marveling at this nature made piece of artwork.  We also had an ARK (Act of Random Kindness) performed for us here when a total stranger volunteered to take a picture of our family in front of it--that was really nice and gave us a chance to have a picture with all of us in it instead of the cameraman missing.

Remember Kindness :) It Matters and it begins with you!

WEEK 2--The Kindness Challenge

This week take time to notice the beauties of the earth, the mountains, the trees, the flowers, a sunset or sunrise, the clouds, a rainstorm, a rainbow, etc.

This may seem a little strange as a kindness challenge because it is something you do for yourself.  Have you heard the scripture, Love thy neighbor as thyself?  The problem is a lot of us don't love and take care of ourselves so we are unable to help and love our "neighbor".  Once a month one of the kindness challenges is going to focus on doing something kind for yourself so you can refill your cup and be able to help others.

NOTE:  I am going to be on vacation next Monday so I am going to post the Week 3 Kindness Challenge tomorrow.  I'm hoping to have internet and if I do I will post a comment on that post if I don't have internet then everyone will still have the Week 3 Challenge.
