Community comes together to help family of 6-year-old killed while crossing the street

Students and faculty at Whittier Elementary School are heartbroken by the loss of 6-year-old Ambrosia Amalatitoda .

The little girl was hit while crossing State Street at about 1500 South on March 14, and died the next day. As a way to help students deal with the tragedy the school organized a donation drive for her funeral expenses Friday.

On a cart, a picture of Ambrosia is surrounded by signs of caring along with buckets of spare change and envelopes filled with dollar bills. Dozens of her classmates came forward with money from their piggy banks and their pocket change to help Ambrosia's family. Parents, teachers, and students donated more than $1,000.

This was a hard article to read because I have a 6 year old and I can only imagine the heartache this poor family is going through.  I was happy to see how people are reaching out to help them.

People reach out to a Family who experiences 2 Losses

I was amazed at this blog I found a couple of weeks ago.  First because of  what had happened to their family--first their 10 year old son passed away and then 3 months later the dad passed away.  I can't even imagine the pain and sorrow their family must be going through.  I've been following her blog and I was so impressed that a bunch of people in their community volunteered their time and services to completly finish their unfinished yard for them.  They added special touches like a remembrance garden.  This is truly Kindness in Action!  To read about them click HERE

Week 40--Kindness Challenge--March 5

Memorize the following quote this week:

No Act of Kindness, No Matter How Small, is ever wasted!--Aesop

You Made it to the end of the 40 Week Kindness Challenge!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!  Now don't let it stop here--continue to do acts of kindness every week!!

This is ending 4 days before my daughter Janessa's 2nd Angel Birthday.  It is a time of sadness and remembering for me.  I miss my daughter so very much, but, I will forever be grateful that mixed into my sad memories are happy memories of the kind acts that were done for us from people who showed their love for us and Janessa through their kindness.
